聊天機器人ChatGPT開發商OpenAI週二（10月13日）狀告沙烏地阿拉伯籍工程師阿爾福贊（Abdulrahman Alfozan），主因是他涉嫌在OpenAI加州總部的會議室內秘密安裝錄音裝置，疑似企圖錄下和公司技術相關的敏感資訊。
綜合《美聯社》、《路透社》及《華爾街日報》報導，35歲的阿爾福贊曾任OpenAI產品團隊員工超過一年，涉嫌於今年9月底將一個黑色小型裝置包在衛生紙裡，藏在OpenAI加州總部一間通常由高階主管使用，並討論高度機密的技術、策略及商業事務會議室的電視機後方約兩天。
聯邦調查局（FBI）調查指出，加密錄音裝置被插在會議室電視機後方的USB連接埠上，並於9月30日被發現。OpenAI指出，目前沒有跡象顯示原始碼、模型權重或客戶資料遭不當存取或竊取，而阿爾福贊也已被解僱。
起訴書指出，阿爾福贊上個月曾接近該會議室6、7次，但他並沒有該區域的進入權限。10月5日，監視器拍到阿爾福贊進入並查看電視機後方區域，這正是他安裝錄音裝置的地點。同一天，他還將一個包包遺留在大樓的其他區域，OpenAI保全團隊在打開檢查後，發現裡面有他的皮夾、證件，以及另一個與會議室發現相似的錄音裝置。
此外，FBI表示，阿爾福贊還曾利用一款生產力工具和一個聊天機器人，查詢OpenAI內部的敏感位置，並搜尋如何秘密安裝音訊設備的相關資訊。
目前阿爾弗贊已於上週五（9日）被捕，並於本週二首次出庭。他被指控犯下使用或企圖使用電子、機械或其他裝置，攔截口頭通訊。若罪名成立，最高可面臨5年有期徒刑，併科罰款25萬美元。
