洛杉磯縣蘭開斯特（Lancaster）市長帕瑞斯（R. Rex Parris）正面臨罷免危機，他日前提出「給他們想要的所有芬太尼」來解決該市無家可歸者問題而受到抨擊。
洛杉磯媒體KTLA報導，帕瑞斯在2月25日的市議會會議上發表上述言論。當時一名發言民眾在公共意見時間中質疑帕瑞斯，指出他試圖將城市中的遊民「集中到同一個帳篷區」，對此感到強烈反對。
帕瑞斯則回應，「我想做的，就是給他們免費的芬太尼」，「我想給他們想要多少芬太尼都可以」。

帕瑞斯提出要給遊民這種在加州每年奪走數千條人命的非法毒品，隨即引發強烈譴責，而他本週接受福斯11電視台（Fox 11）訪問時也重申這一觀點。據了解，現年73歲的帕瑞斯於2024年贏得其第六次市長選舉。
