The White House announced the President's statement on Friday (May 29). TrumpDonald Trump's latest health check report indicates that the president, who will soon turn 80, has mild leg swelling and bruising on his hands, and needs to exercise more and lose weight. However, his heart, lungs and nervous system are functioning normally, and he has the "full capacity to perform the duties of Commander-in-Chief and Head of State".

On Monday (26th), Trump went to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, near Washington, for a routine physical examination, and immediately posted on social media that "everything went perfectly." This was Trump's third visit to Walter Reed Medical Center in the past 13 months, a frequency significantly higher than the annual routine of previous US presidents; he himself called it a "semi-annual physical examination."

According to the health check report, Trump still has "mild lower limb edema," but it has improved compared to last year. The White House had previously confirmed that he had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a common condition among the elderly.

Regarding bruising on the hands, the report states that it is a "common and benign" phenomenon, related to frequent handshakes and long-term use of low-dose aspirin for cardiovascular disease prevention. Both factors combined result in minor bruising of the local soft tissue.

Furthermore, the report described the neck rash that appeared in March as a result of "preventative skin treatment." The neurological and psychological assessment section indicated that Trump completed a comprehensive neurological examination, which showed normal cognitive and mental status, and he passed screening for depression and anxiety.

The doctor also offered several health recommendations in the report, pointing out that Trump needs to continue adjusting his diet, exercising regularly, losing weight, and taking low-dose aspirin.
