A corruption scandal has erupted in a Thai prison! Chinese prisoners received "VIP treatment" and were caught smuggling female models into the prison for sex trafficking.

A corruption scandal has recently erupted at Bangkok Central Prison in Thailand. According to local media reports, the Thai Department of Prisons raided the prison on Sunday (November 16th), uncovering that prison guards accepted large bribes from Chinese prisoners in exchange for "VIP treatment," and even assisted these prisoners in engaging in sex trafficking with female models smuggled from China within the prison. The case has immediately attracted widespread attention.

Thai Public Television (PTT)Thai PBSAccording to reports, the raid was triggered by a tip-off received by the prison administration alleging that Chinese prisoners were enjoying unusual privileges within the prison and were exerting undue influence over other local prisoners. Investigators seized several prohibited electrical appliances, including microwaves, refrigerators, and air conditioners, as well as luxury goods. They also found multiple used condoms in a secret room under the stairs, suspected to be a location for prostitution. Police stated that DNA samples will be sent for testing to identify those involved.

According to the investigation, the Chinese prisoner recruited top female models from China through illegal channels at exorbitant fees, with reports suggesting that airfare and payment totaled over one million Thai baht. The report also indicated that investigators arrested a man and a woman at the scene while they were engaging in sexual activity.

It is noteworthy that some Thai prisoners were assigned as personal servants, specifically to serve these wealthy inmates. The report indicates that prison guards not only tacitly approved of this but actively cooperated, and large quantities of instant coffee packets were found in some guards' dormitories, suspected of being used as gambling chips by Chinese prisoners.

In response, the Thai Department of Prisons issued a stern statement on Friday (21st), condemning the prison guards' actions as a serious violation of discipline and the spirit of the law, and announcing the reassignment of 14 to 20 personnel, including the prison warden. The Chinese prisoners involved have also been transferred to other prisons. Thai Justice Minister Rutthapon Naowarat stated, "I have never seen such behavior in my public service career; it completely subverts the prison system and the judicial system."

The Thai government has established a special investigation committee to thoroughly investigate the structural corruption and transnational bribery network behind this case, and more details are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
