Oscar-winning actor Nicolas Cage voiced Spider-Man Noir in the Oscar-winning animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Now he will return to star in Spider-Noir in a live-action film. The series is expected to premiere on Amazon's streaming platform Prime Video in 2026.
Amazon released the first still from the series at its annual advertising investment event (upfront) on Monday (May 5). In the still, Nicolas Cage can be seen wearing the classic "Dark Spider" look, with all black and white tones echoing the character's background setting and the style of the original comics. In addition, the series will be available in both black and white and color versions for viewers to choose from.

According to Variety, Spider-Noir is set in 1930s New York and tells the story of an aging and frustrated private investigator who is forced to confront his past as the city's only superhero. It is reported that although the character comes from "Spider-Man: New Universe", the content of the series is adapted from Marvel's "Spider-Man Noir" comic original and will be independent of the animation universe.
The series will be produced by Sony Pictures Television and will premiere in the United States through the "MGM+" cable channel and will be available globally on Prime Video the next day. The series stars comedian Lamorne Morris, The Banshees of Inisherin actor Brendan Gleeson and Sinners actress Li Jun Li.
The series is directed by Killing Eve director Harry Bradbeer, who will direct the first two episodes and serve as executive producer. The development team is jointly produced by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller and Amy Pascal, the main creators behind "Spider-Man: New Universe".
