Malaysian singer Huang Mingzhi Namewee, recently embroiled in the sudden death of Taiwanese internet celebrity "Nursing Goddess" Hsieh Yu-hsin, was investigated by police as a murder after the case was changed from a sudden death to a murder investigation. He surrendered himself to the Kuala Lumpur Dang Wangi Police Headquarters on Wednesday (November 5th), and his six-day remand period expires next Monday (November 10th). Police stated on Sunday (November 9th) that they will apply to the court for an extension of Namewee's remand for further investigation.
According to reports from Malaysian media outlets such as China Press, Namewee stated in his statement that at 1:40 PM on October 22nd, he and Hsieh Yu-hsin were discussing filming content when Hsieh Yu-hsin said she wanted to take a quick shower and then went into the bathroom. Thirty minutes later, Namewee noticed something was wrong and went into the bathroom to find Hsieh Yu-hsin lying in the bathtub. Despite CPR, he was unable to save her life, after which he called the police for help.
Chris, Hsieh Yu-hsin's agent, stated that Hsieh Yu-hsin's family has not yet contacted Namewee's legal team and is still waiting for a response from the police through their lawyer before deciding on further arrangements.
