Amidst escalating tensions between China and Japan, Japanese pop diva Ayumi Hamasaki's planned Asian tour concert, "ayumi hamasaki ASIA TOUR 2025 AI am ayu -ep.II-", scheduled for November 29th in Shanghai, was abruptly canceled by Chinese authorities the day before the concert. Despite this, she still performed the entire show as planned. However, on Tuesday (December 9th), Hamasaki announced that the final show of the tour, originally scheduled for January 10th in Macau, will be cancelled.
According to multiple media reports, Ayumi Hamasaki mentioned that, after negotiations between her agency Avex and the organizer, the Macau concert could not be held as scheduled due to "various reasons".
Ayumi Hamasaki expressed that after the Shanghai performance, she has once again brought "great sadness and trouble" to everyone. As for her fans across Asia, she said, "We feel very wronged that this tour could not be completed before the last show, and we express our heartfelt apologies to TA (the common name for Ayumi Hamasaki's fans)."
Ayumi Hamasaki said that she is working on a compensation plan for fans who bought tickets to her Shanghai and Macau concerts, such as giving them priority access to tickets for her 2026 tour. She also said that she will definitely arrange opportunities to meet with fans in Shanghai and Macau in the future.
She added, "Please give me a little more time. I will do my best to live up to the expectations of my fans."
