The A24 production "The Drama," starring Robert Pattinson and Zendaya, generated buzz on Tuesday (December 9) with a clever marketing tactic the day before its trailer release: the production team placed an "engagement notice" in The Boston Globe, sparking heated discussions among netizens.

The advertisement, featuring the names of the two lead actors, read "Emma Harwood and Charlie Thompson are engaged," accompanied by a still from the movie poster, making it appear like a real news story. The announcement stated that the couple will marry on April 3, 2026, in Boston, coinciding with the film's release date.

Directed by Kristoffer Borgli (director of Dream Scenario), The Drama is a fast-paced and suspenseful story about an engaged couple who face a series of revelations on the eve of their wedding.

The characters' backgrounds were also revealed in the fake engagement ad: "Charlie" is the curator of the Cambridge Art Museum and holds a PhD in Art History from Tufts University; "Emma" is a bookstore employee who graduated from the English Department of Boston University. The significant age gap between the two has attracted much attention.
