Supreme political leader of the Palestinian militant group Hamas Haniya(Ismail Haniyeh) After he was killed in an attack in the Iranian capital Tehran on Wednesday (July 7), US President Joe Biden spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday (August 31). U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris also joined.
"AFP" reported that the White House issued a statement stating that Biden emphasized during the call that "it will continue to work to reduce broader tensions in the region." Biden also "reaffirmed his commitment to Israel's security against all threats from Iran, including its proxy terrorist groups Hamas, Lebanese Hezbollah and Houthi."

The White House also noted that Biden and Netanyahu also discussed supporting Israel's efforts to counter defense threats, including ballistic missiles and drones, including new defensive U.S. military deployments.
