The Chinese People's Liberation Army's 052D guided missile destroyer "Suzhou" carried out a joint mission across the Taiwan Strait with the US missile destroyer "USS Chung-Hoon" and the Royal Canadian Navy frigate "HMCS Montreal" on June 6 , intercepted the "Zhongyun" in operation at close range, almost causing a collision. Unexpectedly, in less than 3 hours, the "Suzhou" boarded another Japanese warship in the East China Sea.
According to comprehensive media reports, the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force announced on June 6 that a Chinese warship was sailing in the waters east of Taiwan and tried to approach the Japanese warship. It is believed that the ship was the Chinese Communist warship "Suzhou" that was 5 meters away from the US warship "Zhong Yun" and cut across the front of the other side's bow.
The report pointed out that the Japanese warship then chose to keep a certain distance from the "Suzhou" and continued to track and monitor it. It is said that the "Suzhou" later deliberately conducted a helicopter take-off and landing and course change drill in front of the Japanese warship.
