The Yemeni Shiite armed group "Youth Movement" (Houthis, also known as the Houthi armed forces) announced on Wednesday (March 3) that it had attacked a US warship in the Red Sea for the fourth time in 19 hours, and accused the US military of launching air strikes in many places in Yemen, even affecting the hiding place of its leaders. The US Central Command (CENTCOM) later confirmed that it was continuing operations against the Houthi armed forces.
'AFP” reported that a spokesman for the Houthi armed forces said that they launched an attack on the U.S. aircraft carrier "USS Harry S. Truman" strike group with cruise missiles and drones, and claimed that this was the "fourth time in 72 hours" that they had targeted U.S. warships. He stressed that US military action would not be able to stop Yemen's support for Gaza.
According to Al-Masirah TV, which is operated by the Houthi armed forces, the US military has launched more than 10 air strikes on various locations in Yemen in recent days, including the Al-Safra district in Saada province. According to Yemeni sources, the Safra district is where the Houthi leaders have been hiding for a long time. There are weapons depots and training grounds there, and it is regarded as one of the organization's most heavily guarded important military strongholds.
According to previous reports, the US military recently announced that it will continue to take deadly and overwhelming military operations against the Houthi armed forces starting from the 15th of this month until they stop launching attacks in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. Reports pointed out that the action triggered large-scale protests in Yemen, and the Houthi armed forces also launched retaliatory attacks. However, a US general revealed that most Houthi attacks failed to hit their targets.
