佛州週日（4月27日）晚間8點43分左右，一艘私人船隻在清水市（Clearwater）的紀念提道大橋（Memorial Causeway Bridge）附近撞上一艘渡輪，造成至少1人死亡、多人受傷。當時渡輪上載有45人，包括兩名船員。

綜合媒體報導，美國海岸巡防隊（Coast Guard）與佛州魚類與野生動物保護委員會（Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission）將負責調查。美國海岸巡防隊表示，所有傷患均是渡輪上的乘客，「肇事船隻已經逃離現場」。
據了解，佛州清水市近日舉行長達17天的Sugar Sand慶典活動，週日是最後一天，許多民眾搭乘渡輪往來慶典活動地點。
