International gold prices closed slightly lower on Friday (November 6), as the latest U.S. nonfarm payrolls report beat expectations, leading markets to estimate that the Federal Reserve (Fed) may delay its rate-cutting timeline in December, driving the U.S. dollar and U.S. Treasury yields higher in tandem. Nevertheless, gold’s overall performance remained strong, with a weekly cumulative gain of 5.2%, marking its best showing since August this year.
Spot gold fell 0.3% to $4,074.36 per ounce; December gold futures closed down 0.9% at $4,074.90 per ounce.
